You can find an extensive archive of regional newspaper and magazines in the state library. Additionally we provide you with a reading room with supraregional daily and weekly newspapers and magazines. We also offer international newspapers and magazines via databases on site. You can find an overview of our selection here:

PressReader offers access to over 7,000 products of the international press of the last 90 days in 60 languages. You can browse newspapers from over 120 countries. Specific articles from daily newspapers can be listened to via the Newspaper Radio using Windows Media Player. - Electronic newspaper library (EZB) The EZB is a cooperative service of 655 libraries and offers easy and comfortable access to electronically published scientific newspapers. Over 7,000 electronic newspapers are available on site. You can also access approximately 70,000 free newspapers. A simple traffic light system shows you which newspapers are available.
- Periodicals from Mecklenburg-Vorpommern This database encompasses the collections of historic newspapers and magazines from municipal archives and museums. Former gaps in the collections of the state library in Schwerin as well as the university libraries in Rostock and Greifswald can now be filled.
- Newspaper database (ZDB) The ZDB summarises references for newspapers, magazines and databases in over 3,700 German and Austrian libraries.

You receive access to an interdisciplinary portal which offers a variety of heterogeneous primary sources, e.g. electronic newspapers, books and reference books by the Springer publishing houses. Currently, over 2,900 newspapers and 300,000 books are offered online. -
F.A.Z.-BiblioNet
This service can only be used on site!
The database of the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung contains all articles from this newspaper published since 1993 as well as reports of the Rhein-Main-Zeitung, the regional part of the FAZ for the Rhine-Main area and the Frankfurter Allgemeinen Sonntagszeitung since 1995. You can view the articles in html-format with all belonging important information or starting in 2001 as a pdf-document with all graphic elements, illustrations, pictures and caricatures. The digital archive of the FAZ also provides you with access to the years from 1949 until 1992. Both databases can be searched parallel in the user interface F.A.Z.-BiblioNet. All this offers you over 350,000 newspaper pages as digital facsimiles since the first publication in 1949.
Municipal press – an assortment
- Norddeutsche Neueste Nachrichten The combined archive of the SVZ and the NNN starting in 2000 can be viewed online. To view articles you need authorized access.
- Nordkurier The electronic version of the Nordkurier is held up for 2 weeks. The archive is fee-based.
- Ostseezeitung The online archive contains all entries since 13th April 1999. To view articles you need authorized access.
- Schweriner Volkszeitung The combined archive of the SVZ and the NNN starting in 2000 can be viewed online. To view articles you need authorized access.
